Scent of a...day

I have this thing. You know, the one that someone connects his memories with scents. And every time  you smell a specific fragrance then boom..you relive a past experience. Plus, I am a perfumecholic. My passion for fragrance equals to an addiction. That's why I get to choose a new perfume, when I am up for a big or special event.
I  was seeking for a new ...babe to wear at my daughter's christening. I wanted something soft, gentle and swanky. And of course not a commercial one.The solution was given by my dearest twinny. (my lovely twin sister-yes I have a twin sister and it is amazing!!!) She told me a few days before my big event "I found your new perfume. It screams your name. You sooo gonna love it, I already ordered it for me but it is so you." Funny thing, she had said the exact thing a few years back, when she had found my signature perfume. And she was so right.
   Behold...

Ombre rose l' original by Jeans-Charles Brosseau or else... poetry in a bottle

This perfume deserves a webpage not just a post, but that's all I can do at the moment. A brief history. Launched in 1981  and created by Francoise Caron is considered a floral perfume. With top notes aldehydes, peach, Brazilian rosewood and geranium, middle ones sandalwood, vetiver, ylang-ylang, cedar and rose and base honey, tonka bean, cinnamon, musk, heliotrope and vanilla, seems quite complicated. When you get to smell it, you get a rose sprinkled with powder. It's the most innocent, elegant, sophisticated, nostalgic perfume I've ever smelled. This magical liquid is gratefully put in a divine bottle, too.Vintage with a twist, that's quite what it is.
To sum up, I was thinking: how cool and visionary its creator was since he-she named the product ombre rose.... And after 32 years everybody talks about ombre. Ombre hair, lips, nails etc...
What about you? Do you have a perfume that makes your mood?

It's in the little things...

Someone said that happiness isn't a state but brief or long moments. You can't feel happy endlessly or always and small or big things trigger the feeling.
For me happiness is a numerous of things. Looking my kids' faces especially when they are happy, a walk/ride/drive, a change in my house's decoration, preparing a meal based on a new recipe, a bit of shopping, a bright day in a shady court room ...and I can go on and on like forever.
I saved the last paragraph for the special person that makes my mood  almost always. It's my husband. Just hanging out with him doing nothing or doing entertaining stuff like watching a movie together while enjoying some wine, makes the rest of the world a bit bearable...
So, tonight, will you open a bottle for two?

Cheers...

The christening project

Some days ago we had our younger daughter baptized. It was a nice ceremony combined with a family gathering. The things were kept simple and beautiful, exactly the way I had visioned them.
So, I had this dream of me (with my mum's help since she knows how to sew) making all the things with our own hands. And that's what we did....And the result was awesome (for my eyes of course, someone might find it hideous)
Down below I posted some photos of the things we made for our little angel's christening. It's not everything but I can tell you that making with your own hands the (count please)... invitations, the greeting cards, the clothes (dress, underwear, hat), the towels, the sheets, the candles, the souvenirs, the decoration for the meal that followed the ceremony and the bobonieres (I can't translate this word what I mean is the sugared things and sweets you give to the guests after the christening)  was so worthwhile since everything is unique and so special...
I wish my beautiful daughter, who was named Konstantina, to be always healthy, lucky and shiny!!!

Fixing the souvenirs...

The "bobonieres"

Handmade (of course) book for wishes with lovely bracelets-souvenirs

n
Not handmade (but if I was a shoemaker...) shoes by BABYWALKER and soap by Freshline

Handmade card and present (a MICHAEL KORS'  watch) for the kind godmother

The OMG -to die for silk and lace dress with flower and swarovski details, my mum made for my daughter. By the way, she was named after her.

Photo of the dress (again, I know I got in love with it) and the amazing suitcase-toy SKOOT  by SKOOT.

That's a bit of the stuff of that lovely day. I' ll be back with some more details and information.Hope you are all good. Lots of love, Xenia

the mood "fixers"

When everything goes wrong and there's nothing that I feel but FRUSTRATION, I usually do some simple things to cheer... me up. So, here's what I did this week  whenener  I had the "blues".

Long walks by the seaside, always do the trick...

Riding my super cute scooter makes me feel a little bit like an easy rider, haha

Buying flowers, especially elegant and chic ones like orchids

kids,kids,kids...

After a long time, I'm back again.  Due to a veryyyy busy schedule, I haven't posted anything during the previous months. It's funny, because I have so many things to write about that sometimes only thinking of it, is overwelming. Anyway, most of the time is dedicated to our kids, friends  and cousins of them. There' s nothing like spending time with these little fellows. It is maybe exhausting but such a pleasure.
So, we' ve been to birthdays, family gatherings, playgrounds, at the beach, anywhere just to please them. The truth is that they do enjoy themselves and then we get to feel happy too, when we see these big smiles and happy eyes. To be honest, if I was asked  to fetch them a star, I would probably do so. Fortunatelly, their wishes are still very moderate.
I loooooooooooooooove my angels so deeply, that sometimes I want to cry.(It is a cheesy line, I know, but it describes my feelings for them quite accurately)

So tell me, have you seen anything cuter?

This vacation surely... made my mood

Hello my blogworld's friends! Recently,we had the chance to visit a famous greek island in the Ionion Pelagus, called Antipaxi. This wasn't our first time there, but it was certainly our best time there. The place is just unbelievable and I hope you all get the chance to visit it sometime. It is easy and cheap for us (me and my husband) to get there since we already live in Greece. Anyway, I don't want to go on and on about the place like I am a tour guide, but this time I noticed the detail that everybody has been talking about. It is the waters! I was so amazed by the fact that the colour of the sea water is turqoise and emerald and when you snap an underwater photo you see that OMG! the sea is crystal clear and the photos are like professional.... So heavenly beautiful place!! I promised myself to go back and revisit pretty soon. Paradise is only a ship away...

my first,welcoming post...

This is  my first post in my brand new blog.A blog about my life and everything that makes my mood. And I believe that there are plenty of you out there who share the same interests with me.Living a full life since I am a working mum of two,I have found so many things which make my day and my mood.I really want to share these things with you, guys,in order to make life not just bearable but as enjoyable as it gets.Because life is a bless and little things can add huge improvement.
These things  could be your relationships, your love life, the kids, travelling, decorating, sports, cooking, make up, clothes, or even the current trends. It could also be  the fulfillment you get by doing a demanding job and accomplishing your goals. No matter what it is, it takes no effort or money to discover again the details in our life that bring us so much joy.Happiness isn't a state, but moments. It is in our hands to make these moments last  and of course to seek for the pleasure in life with no further delay and excuse. A lot of good people have been such an inspiration to me...and I dared to do the changes they suggested and to focus on the good side . And I am happier now...
Hopefully, I wish this blog would be an inspiration to other people... Or just to keep them good company...Till my next post,I leave you with  a photo of my beeeeeeautiful country, Greece and I  send you all my positive energy,my friends ...And of course my love!

And then God made...Greek islands
