I have this thing. You know, the one that someone connects his memories with scents. And every time you smell a specific fragrance then boom..you relive a past experience. Plus, I am a perfumecholic. My passion for fragrance equals to an addiction. That's why I get to choose a new perfume, when I am up for a big or special event.
I was seeking for a new ...babe to wear at my daughter's christening. I wanted something soft, gentle and swanky. And of course not a commercial one.The solution was given by my dearest twinny. (my lovely twin sister-yes I have a twin sister and it is amazing!!!) She told me a few days before my big event "I found your new perfume. It screams your name. You sooo gonna love it, I already ordered it for me but it is so you." Funny thing, she had said the exact thing a few years back, when she had found my signature perfume. And she was so right.
Behold...
Ombre rose l' original by Jeans-Charles Brosseau or else... poetry in a bottle
This perfume deserves a webpage not just a post, but that's all I can do at the moment. A brief history. Launched in 1981 and created by Francoise Caron is considered a floral perfume. With top notes aldehydes, peach, Brazilian rosewood and geranium, middle ones sandalwood, vetiver, ylang-ylang, cedar and rose and base honey, tonka bean, cinnamon, musk, heliotrope and vanilla, seems quite complicated. When you get to smell it, you get a rose sprinkled with powder. It's the most innocent, elegant, sophisticated, nostalgic perfume I've ever smelled. This magical liquid is gratefully put in a divine bottle, too.Vintage with a twist, that's quite what it is.
To sum up, I was thinking: how cool and visionary its creator was since he-she named the product ombre rose.... And after 32 years everybody talks about ombre. Ombre hair, lips, nails etc...
What about you? Do you have a perfume that makes your mood?
